Gunner Be Step and Sicuro IRHA L4 Open Futurity Champion 3-years-old

20/11/2023 – The Italian Futurity came to an end last Saturday in Cremona (ITA) with the Open finals for 3-years-old counting 14 finalists in the $ 12.733 added L1-, 20 in the $ 22.919 added L2-, 21 in the $ 48.385 added L3- and 21 in de $ 170.622 added L4 finals.
The L1 Futurity Champion was rewarded to Superwalla [Walla Walla Whiz] owned by Alberto Sabadin and ridden by Shane Mark Bas (ITA) marking a 215,5. Reserve honors, marking a 211,0, were rewarded to Spataflash [Pale Face Dunit] owned by and ridden by Alessandro Pinto (ITA). There was a tie for 3rd place. Both Spark Magnetica [Spark N Whiz] owned by Vanessa Orazietti and ridden by Daniele Giacche (ITA) and Rachele Enterprize [SG Frozen Enterprize] owned by Massimo Zanotti and ridden by Giovanni Zucchi (ITA) marked a 216,5.
Posting a 220,5 the L2 title was awarded to GH Donna Whiz [Star Spangled Whiz] owned by Giuliano Gallizia and ridden by Alessandro Frassa (ITA). With Gunnabeagreatdude [ARC Gunnabeabigstar] owned by Le Fattorie di Matilde SRL Frassa also claimed reserve honors posting a 220,0. There was a tie for 3rd place. Both Massimiliano Ruggeri (ITA) and Nicola Brunelli (ITA) marked a 216,5. Ruggeri with LMT Shining Gun [Colonels Shining Gun] owned by Lino Matteo Tosoni between the reins and Brunelli with GF Whiz Double Face [Pale Face Dunnit] owned by Giorgia Ferrari under the saddle.
L3 was decided in a run-off between Frassa and Gunnabeagreatdude and Andrea Costa (ITA) with Rush N Trashya PC [Gunnatrashya] owned by Alex Kubli. The run-off was decided in favor of Costa. Reserve honors and 3rd place were for Frassa.
Remain the results of the $ 170.622 added L4 finals with an impressive field of entries concerning the riders. The horses are only 3-years-old and their potential still has to be proven. By the end of the competition Arnaud Girinon (FRA) and World Map [Spooks Gotta Whiz] owned by Cecilia Frediani were leading with a 223,0 score after a beautiful run. As second last to enter, Manuel Cortesi (ITA) and Frozen Sven [SG Frozen Enterprize] owned by Euletorio Arcese and Roberto Cuoghi took over the lead marking a 224,5. The last entry was Nico Sicuro (ITA) with Gunner Be Step [Sugar Little Step] owned by Quarter Dream SRL. In the preliminaries Sicuro had already shown the potential of this young stallion being shown here for the 5th time and his final run confirmed that. Marking a 226,0 Gunner Be Step and Nico Sicuro are the 2023 NRHA Italy L4 Open Futurity Champion. Reserve honors are for Frozen Sven en Cortesi, 3rd place for World Map en Girinon.
