Nice ending 2025 for Siebe van Bekhoven
12 January 202612/01/2026 – A couple of years ago European riders dominated the NRHA Top Ten world rankings. But now, anno 2026, the soul has left. Only a few European combinations have ranked themselves. Bernard Fonck (BEL) rode GD Peptos Olena Blue [Spat A Blue x Miss Peptos Jacky] owned by Domenico Giannetti (ITA) to the Open title; Enrico Sciuli (ITA) rode Whateverittake [Walla Walla Whiz x Magnum Chic N Chex] owned by Lara Lorengo (ITA) to the Intermediate Open title; and Nina Dan (AT) rode her own Blue Eye Gunlady [HF Mobster x Darlene Enterprize] to the Intermediate Open reserve title.
In the Non Pro division Fabio de Iulio (ITA) and RS Cronos Jac [RS Great Jac Feona x RS Shadow Olena] claimed the title; Nokolai Stiller (GER) and Hollywood Gunrunner [Gunner x Dun it For Missy] the reserve title and Siebe van Bekhoven (BEL) and WS Check My Pedigree [Wimpys Smoking Gun x Footworks Finetiming] placed 4th,, a worthful achievement.
As a 15-years-old Siebe entered the NRHA competition for the first time in 2017. WS Check My Pedigree appeared in 2019. It took a couple of years to become a team, but the effort paid off with a 9th place on the NRHA Non Pro world rankings 2024 and now a 4th place.
Siebe: “To end up again in the Top Ten was my goal from the very beginning of the 2025 show season. I did not only want to match the 2024 achievement, I wanted to improve it and we succeeded. But to be honest, I could never have reached this without the unconditional support of my mom and dad Ingrid and Rins, the help from my girlfriend Nike Lorenz, my best friend Edouard and most of all the Fonck team. I have not made plans yet for the upcoming season. I have a few young horses to work with, but I am also busy with working on my career, being currently employed by an international mergers and acquisitions specialists company. We’ll have to wait and see.”
