Cira Baeck takes the lead in IRHA Open Derby preliminaries

10/09/2020 – The preliminaries of the IRHA Open Derby have been concluded yesterday in Cremona (ITA) and the field of finalists is set. 23 Combinations qualified for the € 32.000 added L4 finals. Posting a 224,5 Cira Baeck (BEL) and the 7-year-old stallion Phantom Face [Pale Face Dunnit] owned by Maria Cecilia Fiorucci (ITA) took the lead, 1 point ahead of Mirko Midili (ITA) and the 6-year-old stallion Maytheforcebewithyou [Spooks Gotta Whiz] owned by Alberto Capello (ITA). Ann Fonck (BEL) followed on 3rd and 4th place. With the 6-year-old mare Spook N Ruffles [Smart Spook] owned by Brigitte Steiner (GER) Fonck marked a 220,5 and with the 6-year-old mare Gunners Specialolena [Gunners Special Nite] owned by Diego dalla Gassa (ITA) a 220,0. Baeck qualified a 2nd horse as well. With the 5-year-old Ebony Trashya [Gunnatrashya] also owned by Fiorucci she posted a 218,5. To qualify for the finals a 218,0 was required. Bernard Fonck (BEL) entered 2 horses, but was not able to qualify either one of them.
21 Combinations qualified for the € 11.000 added L3 final, 22 for the € 7.000 added L2 final and 15 for the € 4.000 added L1 final. To qualify for the L3 final a 215,5 was required, for the L2 final a 212,0 and for the L1 final a 210,5. In both L3 and L2 Roberta Dubini (ITA) and the 6-year-old mare Magnum Chic N Chex [Magnum Chic Dream] owned by Lara Lorengo (ITA) took the lead, marking a 215,5. Lena-Marie Maas (GER) and her own 6-year-old gelding Chic Heidi [Chic Magnetic] took the lead in L1 marking a 218,5.
The finals are scheduled for Saturday September 12. Visitors are not aloud, but live streaming is available.
