AQHA introduces 5 new classes

05/06/2020 – In the course of this year, the AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) will offer 5 new classes at AQHA approved shows: Working Hunter under Saddle, Western Dressage, Ranch Trail, Range Heritage Cutting and Ranch Heritage Working Range Cutting. If these classes will impact European shows is questionable because there are also some criteria that apply.
Working Hunter under Saddle e.g. can only be offered if an over fence class is offered as well, either Hunter Hack, Equitation over Fences, Working Hunter and/or Jumping. And a rider entering Working Hunter under Saddle may not enter the regular Hunter under Saddle class at the same show.
Western Dressage would be definitely an enrichment, but regular AQHA judges are not allowed to judge this class.
