Chic Please put to rest
22/01/2020 – The incredibly versatile Quarter Horse stallion Chic Please, a son from Smart Chic Olena out of San O Lenita, has been humanly put to rest at the age of 25. In 1998 Todd Bergen piloted the 3-year-old stallion to both the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Reserve Champion- and NRHA Open Futurity Champion title. After his retirement the success was continued by his offspring. According to Equi-Stat his offspring have won >$ 2,7 million in Reined Cow Horse, Cutting, Ranch Versatility, Roping, Barrel Racing and Reining. Particular is the fact that one of his offspring, RHM Miss Chic Please out of Over Hill Over Dale, advanced to the US Dressage Finals 2011; the ultimate proof of versatility.
Chic Please’s top reining earner is the 20-year-old gelding RC The Chicster out of Sonita Wilson having $ 56.192 to his name. In 2011 Dutch De Bruin Reininghorses purchased the gelding and Chic Please set foot on European soil. Under the guidance of Michel Sandijck the first European dollars were a fact. The same year the gelding was purchased by Belgian Steve Vannietvelt and Gina de Pauw and the reins were handed over to Dutch Ernst Claassen. The following years it was mainly Vannietvelt himself adding more dollars to the record. In 2015 the gelding was sold to Belgian Laurent van Maele, still registered as current owner.
